Since the release of the AIAG-VDA FMEA Handbook in 2019, some practitioners have struggled with the perceived complexity of analyzing three levels of product performance. However, recent advances in dedicated FMEA software have helped to streamline the development process and ensure more consistency in the content of the analyses.

Omnex AquaPro software focuses on the concept of "Inheritance" that promotes consistency, leading to fewer design errors and process defects. The software allows users to seamlessly transition FMEA content between the AIAG 4th Edition and AIAG-VDA approaches.
